Due to Apple's Activation Lock security feature, most Apple devices are automatically locked to your iCloud account. This includes iPhones, iPads, iPods, MacBooks and iMacs. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any device locked to an iCloud account. You’ll need to remove your account before sending your device to us.

Removing your iCloud account is simple and you can do it at either iCloud.com or by using your device itself. 

Just follow the steps below to remove your account quickly and easily ...


Removing iCloud from iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

To remove your iCloud account using your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, simply follow these steps:

Select Settings
Select General (1)
Select Reset (2)
Select Erase All Content and Settings (3)


You will then need to enter your Apple ID (the same one you use to make purchases from the App Store).

Warning: Don’t delete any data manually while signed into iCloud, as this will remove the content from your iCloud account and any linked devices.

Removing iCloud from MacBook and iMac

To remove your iCloud account using your Macbook or iMac, follow these steps:

System Preference
Select iCloud
Uncheck the ‘Find My Mac’ checkbox (1)
Sign out of iCloud.


You will then need to enter your Apple ID (the same one you use to make purchases from the App Store).

USING iCLOUD.com

To remove your iCloud account via iCloud.com, simply do the following:


Make sure your device is switched off. 

Log into iCloud.com using your Apple ID. 
Select Find My iPhone (1)

At the top of the screen in the centre, you'll see a drop down menu labelled 'All Devices': select your device from here. Your device should appear as 'Offline'. 

Please note: Unless your device is switched off, it won't appear as 'Offline' on iCloud.com. You may have to wait a few minutes after your device has been switched off for it to appear as 'Offline'.

Select the ‘Remove from Account’ option (2) 

Select ‘Remove’ on the confirmation message.
