If your headphones won’t connect to your phone properly, or you’re having audio issues, we recommend checking the headphones first. Try using them with another device to see if you get improved sound and they plug in correctly. If so, plug another set of headphones into your phone to establish if the headphone jack is the problem.
It may be that lint, fluff or debris has found its way into the jack. You can remove this with compressed air or by very carefully using a cotton wool bud. Alternatively, if you’re concerned you might cause more damage, get a repair specialist to do it for a small fee. Failing this, get in touch with your device manufacturer or mobile provider as the device, or part of it, may need replacing.
