First developed in 1995 the DVD took seven years before it became the dominant form of home video, taking over from the VHS, which introduced watching movies at home to the public in 1976.
Skipping scenes had never been easier! Interactive menus made accessing the features a breeze and with the extra capacity on a DVD it meant we could access hours of extra content from our favourite movies.
Studios acted quickly and realised that they could get money for DVDs by re-releasing their back catalogue. DVDs promptly hit the shops in their thousands and several years later DVDs still dominate store space.
Further strides in the world of home video have been made however, such as Blu-ray discs which have started to gain a foot-hold by offering high definition picture quality.
After we watch a DVD a few times it goes to the bottom of the pile; never to be watched again! Selling DVDs with musicMagpie is FREE and EASY &
