Selling Tech & Electronic Products

All electronic products sold to us are checked by our quality control team or a quality control team of one of our nominated partners during the quality assessment process. If your electronic product(s) fail our quality assessment process it will be because the item that you have sent to us is NOT as you have described it when entering the details (providing the required information as prompted by us) of this item on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) and therefore the information you have provided during the selling process to us does not match that gathered by our quality control team when reviewing the electronic product(s) that you have sent to us. 

Each electronic product(s) that you sell to us should match, where applicable, and including but not limited to, the make, model, size, colour and condition that you ascribe it when using our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) to sell your electronic product(s) to/on musicMagpie. When we quality assess your electronic product(s) at our warehouse, or in a place nominated by us solely, we will use the Condition Specifications given below, which were presented to you on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) when you described the condition of the item to make sure that the electronic product(s) you sent to us is as you described it on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) when deriving a musicMagpie valuation/offer price for the item(s) you wish to sell. The Condition you described the electronic product(s) to be in, when selling your electronic product(s), to us on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) directly affects the price we offer for it and if we determine the condition to be different from that which you described we may offer you a revised valuation. Details of what happens when we offer a revised valuation for tech and/or electronic product(s) are contained within these Terms and Conditions.

If your electronic item(s)/product(s) fail our quality assessment process we will contact you via email and inform you of the new valuation we have determined for the item(s) you have sent us. You have four (4) days known as the ‘Grace Period’ to accept or decline the revised offer price/valuation we have provided to you on email. In this email you will be provided with the option to ‘Accept’ or 'Decline’ our revised offer price/valuation. You must either accept or decline our offer by CLICKING THE RELEVANT BUTTON ON THE EMAIL AND FOLLOWING THE LINK within the 4 days allotted under the Grace Period. Failure to do so in the exact manner described, or outside of the timescale specified, will result in us proceeding with your transaction at the revised offer price. For the avoidance of doubt, we do not accept notification of declined offers via email.

If you accept the revised valuation, the new price agreed between you and musicMagpie for the item will be updated in the relevant order, we will present this information to you in the “my account” section of musicMagpie.co.uk and when processing your payment for the relevant order this revised valuation will be the new price paid for that specific electronic item(s)/product(s). The revised valuation is the last and only price we will offer you for the electronic item(s)/product(s) in question.

If you take no action and do not respond to this revised valuation email correctly within the four (4) day Grace Period (this four (4) day period begins when the revised valuation email is sent to you and ends 96 hours later) then we will automatically process payment for the electronic item(s)/product(s) at the revised valuation price we have sent to you.

If you choose to decline the revised valuation offered within the four (4) day Grace Period when the revised valuation was offered then we will return your item to the address you have provided in your musicMagpie account at no additional cost. You expressly accept and wholly agree that ANY declination by you of the revised valuation/revised offer price AFTER the four (4) day Grace Period is invalid. By this time you will already have automatically accepted the revised offer price as per the conditions set forth in these Terms and Conditions. You accept and agree that musicMagpie is not liable in any way whatsoever for any compensation of any kind, loss of any kind if you fail to act within the four (4) day Grace Period and ‘Accept’ or 'Decline’ the revised offer and you also agree and accept that the revised offer price made by us to you is the final price we will pay you for the item. In this/these instances the electronic item(s)/product(s) will not be returned and you will be paid the revised valuation for the electronic item(s)/product(s) and the electronic item(s)/product(s) will not and cannot be returned to you in this instance.

It is your sole responsibility to ensure that the address details provided in your musicMagpie account are valid, accurate and correct and you accept and agree that musicMagpie is not liable in any way whatsoever for any compensation or loss of any kind due to items being returned by us to an invalid or incorrect address as a result of your failure to provide valid, accurate and up to date address details in your musicMagpie account.

You understand, accept and agree that musicMagpie’s valuation of the item is final and no discussions will be entered into regarding the value we place on the item(s) once it has been through our quality assessment process.

iOS7 ‘Activation Locked’ devices

We do not accept iOS7 devices which have not been removed from iCloud, have Find my iPhone turned on or are subject to any other iOS7 security feature.

If we receive an item which is subject to any of the above iOS7 security features we will inform you of this via email. You then have four days to remove the security features and confirm to us in writing that this has been done. If we do not receive confirmation from you in writing within four days that the security features have been removed we will recycle your device responsibly and for free. If we do receive this confirmation from you within four days we will test your device one more time to confirm that the security features have been removed. If, after testing your device one more time, it is found that the security features have still not been removed we will recycle your device responsibly and for free. If, after testing your device one more time, it is found that the security features have been removed we will assess your device as normal under our standard Quality Assessment process. You understand, accept and agree that any items received by musicMagpie which are subject to any iOS7 security feature and / or are found to be reported stolen, lost or barred do not qualify for our Price Promise offer and / or our free of charge courier return service. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that any items you send to us are not subject to any iOS7 security feature and / or are not reported as lost, stolen or barred.

Items Sent to us which are Not Listed

You understand, accept and agree that any items received by musicMagpie which were not listed on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) at the point you completed your order/s do not qualify for our Price Promise offer and / or our free of charge courier return service. All items received by musicMagpie which were not listed on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) at the point you completed your order/s will be recycled responsibly free of charge and no payment of any kind will be made to you. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that any items you send to us are listed on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) at the point you complete your order/s and musicMagpie accepts no responsibility or liability of any sort for items received which were not listed on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) at the point you completed your order/s.

Personal Data

We recommend that you delete ALL and/or any personal information (“Data”) that is or may be stored on your electronic item(s)/product(s) such as, but not limited to, digital images/pictures, contact information, usernames, passwords, internet browsing history, settings, songs, MP3s, videos, games. You hereby agree to release and indemnify musicMagpie from all and any losses, claims or damages with respect to the electronic item(s)/product(s), data stored or contained therein or on any media storage device or media that has, maybe or is used in conjunction with the devices including, but not limited to, SIM or SD cards. We accept no responsibility whatsoever in relation to the data that you may, whether knowingly or unknowingly, have provided, whether personal, confidential, private or otherwise your own on the electronic item(s)/product(s) because of action taken whilst it was in your possession, to us when selling your electronic products and furthermore we take absolutely no responsibility for the security of such or any data that reaches us as a result of the sale of your electronic item(s)/product(s). You accept that it is entirely your own responsibility to remove such data from the electronic item(s)/product(s) prior to sending it to us. We provide a free online guide explaining how to delete personal data from your electronic products, which we recommend that you read if you need help deleting such data from your tech and/or electronic item(s)/product(s).

We take no responsibility whatsoever and you are fully responsible for cancelling any contracts linked to the electronic item(s)/product(s) that you sell to us including, but not limited to, airtime contracts, call or data charges arising before or after we have received your electronic item(s)/product(s) or that may arise anytime, or under any circumstances whatsoever.

Please be sure to remove any and all SIM, media storage / memory cards from your electronic item(s)/product(s) prior to sending them to us. If we discover on receipt/reviewing your electronic item(s)/product(s) that storage devices, SIM Cards, memory cards or similar devices have been sent to us we will NOT return them, they will be recycled/disposed of responsibly and we accept no liability for these items sent in error by you and furthermore we will not be liable and you agree to indemnify us completely for any charges incurred as a result.

Price Validity

For electronic item(s)/product(s) that we accept, the prices offered to you are valid for twenty eight (28) days from the date that they are offered to you and you complete a transaction on our webservice(s), website(s) and/or mobile application(s) and after that period (twenty eight (28) days) you understand, accept and agree that should we not process your items at our warehouse within the period that the offer price is valid that we may revalue your items and if we do and email you the revised offer price then you will be deemed to be at the start of the four (4) day Grace Period and the Terms and Conditions set forth herein and without question apply to you, your transaction and your electronic item(s)/product(s) as such.
