The Note 10 series is a good option for those who don’t want to pay out for the newest Note model – plus, the newest model is only one year younger than the Note 10!

Released in 2019, the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus are currently the second newest Note series, falling one year behind the Note 20 models. It looks like Samsung chose to discontinue the Note line after the release of the Note 20, so the 2019 and 2020 models are the newest of the bunch.

So for those wondering “should I buy the Note 10?” or those wanting to know the differences between the Note 10 vs Note 10 Plus, we’ve got you covered! Both models have Dynamic AMOLED technology and offer the same HDR10+ colour.

As we already know, the Note 10 Plus screen size is substantially bigger than the Note 10’s. In addition to the extra half an inch of screen, the Note 10 Plus has a slightly better Quad-HD+ 1440p panel. The Note 10 only offers a 1080p, full-HD+ display.

What this means is that the Note 10 Plus will have slightly sharper text and graphics, but we doubt that many people would be able to tell them apart as it’s such a small difference.

Design

If you were hoping for a clear distinction between the two models in terms of design, you’re going to be disappointed. Other than the size of the devices, both models look almost identical.

Both feature Gorilla Glass 6 with metal frames, lack a headphone jack and offer a near bezel-less display with an Infinity-O hole-punch for the front-facing camera. Both models even come with the exact same S Pen.

Where the Note 10 vs Note 10 Plus design battle starts is with the dimensions. The Note 10 has a 6.3-inch display with a height of 5.9 inches, a width of 2.8 inches, a depth of 0.31 inches and a weight of 168g. The Note 10 Plus has a 6.8-inch display, with a height of 6.4 inches, a width of 3 inches, a depth of 0.31 inches and a weight of 196g.

Performance

In the UK, the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus both use Samsung’s Exynos 9825 processor, so there’s no obvious performance difference between the two.

If you’re hunting for differences in performance, the only real difference would come down to the RAM. The Note 10 carries 8GB, while the Note 10 Plus has 12GB, so you’ll get a little bit of a boost in performance on the Note 10 Plus.

You can also find more storage on the Note 10 Plus, as this model has a microSD slot for added external memory and comes in both 256GB and 512GB – the Note 10 only comes with 256GB and has no microSD slot.

Cameras

Another feature that bears little difference between the two models is the camera setup. The Note 10 has three cameras on the rear of the device: a 12MP wide lens, a 12MP telephoto lens and a 16MP ultrawide lens. On the front of the phone, you’ll also find a 10MP camera.

The Note 10 Plus has the exact same camera setup, with the addition of a time-of-flight sensor that lives under the flash on the rear of the device. This extra lens brings the Note 10 Plus’ total of rear-facing cameras to four. The new time-of-flight lens is for measuring depth and distance in 3D space, so it’s not the end of the world if you choose the Note 10 without it.

Battery

Comparing the Note 10 vs Note 10 Plus in terms of battery, you’ll notice that the Note 10 has a mere 3500 mAh battery – this is actually smaller than the the Note 9’s battery! The Note 10 Plus, on the other hand, has a 4300 mAh battery.

With the Note 10, you’ll get up to 15 hours of internet usage time (on LTE and Wi-Fi), up to 17 hours of video playback time, up to 50 hours of audio playback time and up to 24 hours of talk time (4G LTE).

With the Note 10 Plus, you’ll get up to 16 hours of internet usage time using LTE (you’ll get up to 17 hours using Wi-Fi), up to 20 hours of video playback time, up to 62 hours of audio playback time and up to 28 hours of talk time (4G LTE).

Both models feature 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare, so you won’t be short of charging options with either model.

Have you made your decision? Buy refurbished Galaxy Note 10 and refurbished Galaxy Note 10 Plus models right here on the musicMagpie Store to save on your phone upgrade!
