Nearly 14 years after the original film was released, the franchise is more popular than ever.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the release of <em>Fast &amp; <\/em><i>Furious 7<\/i>, we\u2019ve ranked the films so far from worst to best. Starting with&#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong>#6. The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/p8HQ2JLlc4E\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The 3rd <i>Fast and Furious<\/i> film is the black sheep of the family, with none of the original cast returning (well, kind of\u201d\u00a6). Instead, <i>Tokyo Drift<\/i> follows young hotshot Sean as he enters the world of drift racing and accidently gets himself in trouble with the Yakuza in the process.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not a terrible film, \u00a0but it\u2019s clear how much the likes of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel bring to the table; the new characters just don\u2019t gel as well as the original gang. The racing scenes are reliably awesome, though.<\/p>\n<p>Weirdly, this film is the direct prequel to <i>Furious 7<\/i> in <i>The Fast and The Furious <\/i>canon so its probably worth giving it another watch before you skip off to the cinema.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><b>#5: 2 Fast 2 Furious<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZZGkV_xWGw4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Apart from the clever title, the 2nd <i>Fast and Furious <\/i>film isn\u2019t that great. With Vin Diesel deciding to sit this one out, the film follows Paul Walker\u2019s Brian O\u2019Conner as he infiltrates another street racing gang. It\u2019s pretty much a retread of the first film but a less charismatic cast, less driving sequences and more talking. It looks good, though.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><b>#4: Fast &amp; Furious<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k98tBkRsGl4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><i>Fast and Furious<\/i>, the 4th film in the franchise, saw the original cast reunite for the first time since <i>The Fast and the Furious<\/i>. Like with any big reunion, though, there are a few uncertain moments.<\/p>\n<p>Plot-wise, it\u2019s more or less the same as the first film: Vin Diesel and Paul Walker forge an uneasy alliance to take down a even-more-evil baddie who just happens to enjoy street racing. However, the formula isn\u2019t quite there: not enough driving, too much talking and a lack of emotional investment in characters that hadn\u2019t been on screen for nearly 6 years (or, in the case of Vin Diesel, 8).<\/p>\n<p>Still, it\u2019s an entertaining film and a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><b>#3: The Fast and The Furious<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2TAOizOnNPo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The film that kicked it all off. Inspired by a article on illegal street racing gangs, <i>The Fast and The Furious<\/i> follows FBI agent Brian O\u2019Conner as he infiltrates the charismatic Dominic Toretto\u2019s gang. Of course, Brian soon finds himself lured in by the exciting prospect of souped up cars and ends up more than a little bit compromised&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Like the rest of the films in the franchise, it\u2019s a fun film that doesn\u2019t require too much attention to enjoy. However, it wasn\u2019t until a few films later that the franchise would hit on a formula that really worked.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><b>#2: Fast &amp; Furious 6<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dKi5XoeTN0k\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The most recent entry in the franchise is also one of the best. After the events of the 5th film, the gang are spread across the globe. However, the promise of having their crimes wiped from the slate soon brings them back together. The catch? They have to take down yet another car-obsessed criminal mastermind\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><b>#1: Fast Five<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bf4oDjHUmkY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And finally, the best <i>Fast and Furious <\/i>film of all (although it doesn\u2019t actually have the <i>Furious<\/i> part in the title\u201d\u00a6). <i>Fast Five<\/i> shakes up the formula slightly, shifting the focus from street-racing to a full-on heist scenario. There\u2019s still plenty of fast cars and racing, of course, but having Brian O\u2019 Conner and chums carrying out an audacious heist adds an extra layer of tension.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also the film that introduced The Rock to the franchise, proving beyond doubt that adding The Rock to anything makes it 100% better.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Do you agree with our list?
