This week, it’s the turn of Trello, a project management tool that could change your life forever…

What is it?

If you’ve ever stuck a load of Post-Its to a wall in order to make sense of something, you’ll be well at home with Trello.

It’s essentially a virtual whiteboard on which you place virtual notes. The idea is that you break down any ongoing projects you have into notes, which can then be categorised on your board. Your ”˜projects’ can be anything; work, home, movie to-watch lists, game lists or even holiday planning.

The virtual notes you place on the board are known as ”˜cards’ and feature all of the information for the task. You can add to this information with attachments and to-do lists, and each card can be assigned to a different collaborator.

Why is it surprisingly easy?

Trello offers a real sense of progress to whatever you’re doing. For example, if you want to track your movie to-watch list, you can break down your board into ”˜to-watch’ and ”˜watch’ and shift each movie between the two. But you can also make notes on each movie, noting what you liked and what you didn’t. It’s not just a great to-do list; it’s a great diary too.

After a while, you’ll realise that pretty much everything in your life can fit into Trello’s management system. Trello syncs across all of your devices too, which means any updates you make on the phone app will be reflected on your computer and tablet and vice versa.

The best bit

You’ll get a lot more done and you’ll forget a lot less without having to pay a penny. Can’t ask for much more than that, can you?

The downside

It’s quite difficult to get to grips with at first, and you may struggle to see the point if you aren’t the kind of person who has lots of projects or ambitions on the go at once. Stick with Trello, though, and you’re almost bound to find some use for it.

Download Trello on iOS | Download Trello on Android

Don’t forget to check out our own surprisingly easy app, which allows you to scan your CDs, DVDs and Games for an instant price!

Download musicMagpie on iOS | Download musicMagpie on Android

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another app that’ll make your life easier.
