Look at any shopping website and you\u2019ll find more tablets than your average branch of Boot\u2019s. Since the success of the iPad, and the subsequent success of countless Android devices, manufacturers have been clamboring over each other to release more and more tablets. How do you choose between them all?<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve put together a quick guide to help you!<\/p>\n

The professional<\/b><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re using your tablet for work, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3<\/b> is your best bet. With an attachable type cover, it\u2019s more or less a laptop and a tablet in one.<\/p>\n

\"Surface<\/a><\/p>\n

It has a 12 inch display and specs comparable to a MacBook if you\u2019re willing to pay enough. With multitasking functions and exceptional processing power, it can handle most arduous tasks too. The stylus makes it a good choice for designers.<\/p>\n

A few reviews have suggested that the Surface Pro\u2019s battery life is short, while the standard gripe about the lack of Microsoft apps compared to iOS and Android remains too. However, it\u2019s pretty much the best tablet available for professionals using a tablet as their main device. If you\u2019ve got the cash, give it a try (sell electronics<\/a> if needs be!).<\/p>\n

The iPad Air 2 <\/b>is the nearest competitor, although it\u2019s not as \u201d\u02dcwork focused\u2019 as the Surface Pro 3. Rumours suggest that Apple will release a \u201d\u02dcPro\u2019 version of the iPad very soon though<\/a>; it\u2019ll include a 12\u201d\u009d display and split screen multitasking functionality.<\/p>\n

The gamer<\/b><\/h3>\n

While tablet gaming is mostly associated with \u201d\u02dccasual\u2019 titles like Clash of Clans<\/i> and Boom Beach<\/i>, there is a growing demand for high-powered devices capable of console-like experiences.<\/p>\n

At the moment, the Nvidia Shield<\/b> is the best gaming-focused tablet. Available from around \u00a3240, it features an 8\u201d\u009d screen and a Tegra K1 chip, which is one of the best processors around. Games are available from Android\u2019s Play Store, or you can stream directly from your PC. For an extra \u00a350, you can get a dedicated controller too.<\/p>\n

\"Nvidia<\/a><\/p>\n

Again, we have to recommend the iPad Air 2<\/b> as well – if only for iOS\u2019 great selection of games. The Air\u2019s powerful processor and hi-res screen make it the best iOS gaming device.<\/p>\n

The film and TV addict<\/b><\/h3>\n

This is a difficult category to choose just one tablet for, as most devices play movies in an acceptable fashion.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re serious about getting the best possible viewing experience, though, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S<\/b> is a solid choice. It has an incredible 8.4\u201d\u009d (or 10.5\u201d\u009d!) AMOLED screen, which makes any film look fantastic. It only has 16GB of storage, although this can be increased with a MicroSD card.<\/p>\n

\"Galaxy<\/a><\/p>\n

Of course, Samsung devices tend to divide opinion. If you\u2019re not a fan of Samsung, give the Sony Xperia Z3<\/b> a try.<\/p>\n

The budget buyer<\/b><\/h3>\n

Nestled amongst some of the biggest names in tech, Tesco have forged quite a reputation for quality tablets at exceptional prices. The Hudl 2<\/b> isn\u2019t world-changing but it has an 8.3\u201d\u009d HD screen, loads of apps and is pretty much perfect for kids.<\/p>\n

The Google Nexus 7<\/b> is a good budget-friendly choice too, although it\u2019s a few years old now.<\/p>\n
