While the Nintendo 3DS continues to sell faster than lightsabers at a Star Wars convention, the Wii U is performing badly.

Around 10 million Wii U consoles have been sold since it was released in 2012. Here are a few reasons to consider selling your Xbox One or PS4 and buying a Wii U!

Splatoon

Shooting games have never been Nintendo’s forte, but Splatoon could change that. This quirky third person shooter is typically colourful, with players shooting each other with garish ink rather than bullets. It’s been getting great reviews already and could be the perfect antidote to the endless grim warfare of Call of Duty, Gears of War and countless others.

Splatoon is released today, so keep an eye out for console bundles.

Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda (plus more!)

Nintendo are responsible for some of the best franchises in video game history, but they don’t like sharing; the only way you can get your Mario or Link fix is on a Nintendo console.

The Wii U’s lineup of Nintendo exclusives is strong with the amazing Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8 and New Super Mario Bros U. With a new Zelda (apparently the biggest to date) coming out next year, and new entries to the Pokemon and Metroid series rumoured, the future looks bright.

Amiibo

Alright, so not everyone is into little Nintendo figurines.
