There\u2019s also an element of resource management as you have to make sure your fellow companions are well-fed and well-armed. The premise is simple: you have to grow a tree to its full height and help it bloom by trimming branches and helping it reaches sunlight. However, there are numerous hazards along the way.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t sound like the most exciting of concepts, but <em>Prune <\/em>is one of the most original puzzle games we\u2019ve played in years. If you loved <em>Monument Valley<\/em>, you\u2019ll probably love this too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/prune\/id972319818?mt=8\">Prune on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tVaRONrY724\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Executive<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You are a business man who has to battle wolves and frogs and bears. Don\u2019t ask why.<\/p>\n<p>The wonderfully weird <em>The Executive <\/em>is a touchscreen brawler where you have to learn the fighting styles of your opponents to overcome them. Between battles, you have to freerun and perform stunts to earn money, which can be reinvested in your business ventures (which, in a neat touch, earns you money even when you\u2019re not playing).<\/p>\n<p>It looks fantastic too, with some amazing comic-style visuals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/the-executive\/id552227993?mt=8\">The Executive on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/j_ZU-Mv9VSc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ryan North\u2019s To Be or Not To Be<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Hamlet <\/em>is undoubtedly one of Shakespeare\u2019s finest works but it\u2019s a bit miserable, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p><em>To Be or Not To Be <\/em>reimagines the Bard\u2019s tragedy as a tragi-comedy, retelling the story as a Choose Your Own Adventure. Don\u2019t worry, it\u2019s still very respectful of the material; it\u2019s just a bit sillier than normal.<\/p>\n<p>You play as Hamlet, Ophelia and Hamlet Sr. (AKA the dead one) and replay the events of the play before branching off on different tangents entirely. You can even end up fighting malicious ghosts in the future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/ryan-norths-to-be-or-not-to-be\/id962986396?mt=8\">Ryan North&#8217;s To Be or Not To Be on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/He1HAWTyT9E\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Implosion: Never Lose Hope<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Implosion <\/em>is a hack and slash action game in the style of <em>Devil May Cry, <\/em>with players taking on the role of a mech-suited human on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Your mission is to hit and shoot stuff with increasingly massive weaponry, racking up combos and super moves as you go along.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not particularly original, but it\u2019s great fun. It\u2019s also a bit pricey, but it\u2019s definitely worth it for what is basically a console quality game.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/implosion-never-lose-hope\/id870322730?mt=8\">Implosion: Never Lose Hope on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/192.168.3.178\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/alto.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4658\" src=\"http:\/\/192.168.3.178\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/alto.png\" alt=\"Alto\" width=\"800\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.musicmagpie.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/alto.png 800w, https:\/\/www.musicmagpie.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/alto-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Alto\u2019s Adventure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Endless runners are ten-a-penny on the App Store, but none are quite as artistic or stunning as <em>Alto\u2019s Adventure<\/em>. The game is basically just snowboarding down a hill and doing the odd couple of tricks (although the trick system is very rewarding), but the atmosphere is so immersive and calming that you\u2019ll probably never want to stop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/altos-adventure\/id950812012?mt=8\">Alto&#8217;s Adventure on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FYOFI6d0IK0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>This War of Mine<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A war game, but not as we know it. Rather than playing as a super-powered soldier,<em> This War of Mine<\/em> puts you in the shoes of regular survivors desperately scavenging for food and supplies while trying not to get killed by snipers or fellow survivors.<\/p>\n<p><em>This War of Mine <\/em>is about as bleak as mobile games come, but it\u2019s extremely thought-provoking and provides an interesting take on the tired war genre<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/this-war-of-mine\/id982175678?mt=8\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/this-war-of-mine\/id982175678?mt=8\">This War of Mine on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/60TZiqA00VU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Her Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Although it looks like one of those terrible \u201d\u02dcfull motion video\u2019 games you used to get on the Sega Mega CD, <em>Her Story <\/em>is actually one of the most compelling games of the years.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re a detective who has to piece together evidence from footage of a woman\u2019s police interview shortly after the disappearance of her husband. You don\u2019t know her name or what questions are being asked, with the video clips your sole source of information. Unravelling the case is rewarding and intriguing, creating one of the best mobile experiences of the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/her-story\/id952658953?mt=8\">Her Story on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jKq8SnwsN9A\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>You Must Build A Boat<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As the title suggests, the main aim of this game is to build a boat. Any boat will do at first, but you soon have to upgrade to take on tougher conditions, which mean adventuring for supplies.<\/p>\n<p><em>YMBAB <\/em>is the sequel to <em>1000000000<\/em> and boasts similar gameplay, with players having to match 3 symbols in a puzzle to attack, defend or unlock. Like <em>1000000000<\/em>, it\u2019s incredibly addictive too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/you-must-build-a-boat\/id811397653?mt=8\">You Must Build A Boat on iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VKSQUNxBE5w\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Auro<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Imagine a non-boring version of chess with monsters and you\u2019ve pretty much got <em>Auro. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>In this turn-based game, you have to defeat enemies on a \u201d\u02dcboard\u2019 to get to the end of the level. To kill an enemy, you have to knock them off the edge of the board.
