Producer Yoshiaki Hirabyashi said \u201cYou\u2019ve been telling us for years that you want <em>Resident Evil 2<\/em> to be remade, and we haven\u2019t been able to make it happen&#8230;until now\u201d\u009d.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-5ptLVwwL_s\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes after a few weeks of Capcom posting about the game on their Facebook page. According to those posts, the remake was being pitched internally to executives.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the game is unlikely to come out anytime soon. Like the remake of <em>Resident Evil<\/em>, the game is being rebuilt from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p>Many gamers will argue it\u2019s about time Capcom got round to remaking <em>Resident Evil 2. <\/em>In the time since it was released, Capcom have remade the first game in the series twice and released at least 4 versions of <em>Resident Evil 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes a couple of months after it was announced another remake of a PlayStation classic, <em>Final Fantasy 7<\/em>, was in the works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fans of Resident Evil, rejoice!
