Musical history is full of brilliant collaborations, from Jay-Z and Kanye to Queen and David Bowie.<\/p>\n<p>However, sometimes two artists from completely different sides of the track get together to record a track, resulting in some weird and occasionally wonderful collaborations&#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M1PmJ-zJ3H8\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Omen &#8211; DMX and Marilyn Manson<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>The Omen <\/em>features DMX talking to the Devil, voiced by DMX putting on a slightly silly voice. However, silly voiced DMX clearly wasn\u2019t evil enough, so he enlisted the help of none other than the Official Most Evil Man on the Planet 1998, Marilyn Manson.<\/p>\n<p>Our Mazza sings a bit from a previous DMX song, <em>Damien<\/em>, but sounds a bit like he wants to go home, put his feet up and have a nice cup of tea. Being evil is tiring work, apparently.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kMQ3jwqH_lU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Whatzupwitu &#8211; Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A collaboration between the guy behind <em>Thriller <\/em>and the guy behind <em>Beverly Hills Cop <\/em>should have been brilliant. It should have been the best thing ever, in fact. It wasn&#8217;t. Still, the song is nowhere near as bad as the video, which makes the latter work of Mr Murphy look Oscar-worthy&#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2-DOwGIKMtE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Rhinestone &#8211; Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>George Orwell predicted that the world\u2019s population would be enslaved by an omnipresent and all-powerful government by 1984. It turns out the world faced a much worse fate: \u201d\u02dcSweet Lovin\u2019 Friends\u2019 by Dolly Parton and John Rambo. It\u2019s from the film <em>Rhinestone<\/em>, which we wouldn\u2019t recommend either.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UlGPEFDkeWQ\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>2012 \u201d\u201c The Flaming Lips and Ke$ha<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>After his collaboration with Miley Cyrus featured in our last post, it\u2019s clear that Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips feels that his music is best complimented by young female party animals. Surprisingly, the result isn\u2019t anywhere near as bad as you might imagine.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration went so well that the two even planned to release a whole album together, although it hasn\u2019t surfaced yet. Shame, we were looking forward to hearing <em>Yoshimi Brushes Her Teeth With a Bottle of Jack<\/em> and <em>Do You Realise (That The Party Don\u2019t Start \u201d\u02dcTil I Walk In)?<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Nryo91pHK8s\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Winter Wonderland \u201d\u201c Ozzy Osbourne and Jessica Simpson<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At some point in the early 2000s, Ozzy Osbourne seemed to be doing as much as he could to ruin his reputation as the Prince of Darkness. Exhibit A: this chirpy ditty with the wholesome Jessica Simpson.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, it\u2019s probably the evillest song he\u2019s ever recorded.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/My5Bzf0PQhc\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>A Christmas Duel &#8211; The Hives and Cyndi Lauper<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Take one Swedish garage rock band, add an 80s pop sensation and what do you get? Erm&#8230;a Christmas song. To be honest, we can\u2019t see it taking Slade\u2019s place on the Christmas Party playlist any time soon.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/d_RKO5ozLVo\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Forever &#8211; Kiss and Michael Bolton<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Kiss made a lot of weird decisions over the course of their career, but perhaps the weirdest was teaming up with 80s crooner Michael Bolton for this power ballad.<\/p>\n<p>Bolton doesn\u2019t actually appear on the song, but he did co-write it. Remarkably, the song became Kiss\u2019 first US Top 40 hit since <em>I Was Made for Loving You <\/em>11 years earlier and is still a favourite at weddings. Never underestimate the power of the Bolton.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lDpnjE1LUvE\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Where The Wild Roses Grow<em> &#8211; <\/em>Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If we were Australian, our hearts would burst with pride at this one. The two Aussie legends teamed up for this <em>Bad Seeds <\/em>song, which Cave wrote especially for Kylie to sing on. Apparently, he\u2019d wanted to collaborate with her for years. Aww.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1Uw6ZkbsAH8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Princess of China &#8211; Coldplay and Rihanna<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Yep, we\u2019d forgotten about this one too. It makes sense really, given that Coldplay and Rihanna are two of the biggest selling artists of the decade, but we still find it strange that the artist behind <em>B***h Better Have My Money <\/em>worked with Chris Martin, who seems like he\u2019d prefer curling up with a kale smoothie and a good book rather than a night at the club.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In the mood for more weird collaborations?
