But believe it or not, there are actually <em>other films <\/em>coming out this month, including lots of Christmas flicks and a film about an angry whale.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Tuesday 1<sup>st<\/sup> December<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Christmas With The Coopers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-TSX_0rwPNc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>First out of the blocks in this year\u2019s race for \u201d\u02dcfuture Christmas classic\u2019 status is <em>Christmas With The Coopers<\/em>, in which four generations of a family come together on Christmas Eve and have their lives turned upside down by a series of events.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being marketed as a family comedy, it\u2019s actually a dramedy so expect a few weepy moments and plenty of warm-hearted Christmas spirit. The all star cast includes Diane Keaton, Jon Goodman, Ed Helms, Olivia Wilde and Anthony Mackie.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Thursday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> December<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Victor Frankenstein<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7pxZxY_Siyc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in this prequel to <em>Frankenstein<\/em>, AKA <em>Victor Frankenstein Begins<\/em>. It\u2019s the latest edition in Universal\u2019s <em>Monsters<\/em> cinematic universe, with the plan presumably to team up Big Frank, Dracula and the Mummy in an <em>Avengers<\/em>-type movie.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, we might not get that movie because <em><a href=\"https:\/\/uproxx.com\/filmdrunk\/2015\/11\/weekend-box-office-top-10-victor-frankenstein\/\">Victor Frankenstein has bombed in the US<\/a><\/em>. So if you want to see Dracula and Frankenstein having a scrap in a few years time, make sure you go and see this!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Friday 4<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Krampus<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/h6cVyoMH4QE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The second big Christmas movie of the year, <em>Krampus <\/em>sees a young boy accidentally unleash a festive demon by turning his back on Christmas. Think Father Christmas, but with bigger claws and an appetite for flesh rather than mince pies. Or Dracula, except he can be warded off with Christmas jumpers and Slade rather than garlic and crosses.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the scary premise, this is actually a horror comedy with Adam Scott (<em>Parks and Recreation, Step Brothers<\/em>) and Toni Collette (<em>Little Miss Sunshine<\/em>) among the main stars.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The Night Before<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ShIAH_G-Iuw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie star in this (you guessed it!) Christmas caper. Three friends spend the night looking for the best Christmas party in New York, their last Christmas party before they decide to grow up once and for all.<\/p>\n<p>If you love Seth Rogen films, then you\u2019re probably going to love this. Anyone else will probably appreciate the short break from Christmas schmaltz.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Friday 11th December <\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>By The Sea<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vUFZOO9zO0Q\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no Christmas in this one, although we\u2019re sure some people would consider any film with both Angelina Jolie (Pitt) and Brad Pitt (Pitt) in it a gift.<\/p>\n<p>Written and directed by Jolie Pitt, <em>By The Sea <\/em>sees Hollywood\u2019s best looking couple portraying a former dancer and a writer travelling through 1970s France. Unfortunately, their relationship isn\u2019t going swimmingly (pun absolutely fully intended)&#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Saturday 12<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Sisters<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vRnhEjP3R-c\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Amy Poehler and Tina Fey star as a pair of sisters who decide to throw a massive party before their family home is sold. Cue lots of bad behaviour, lots of laughs and an appearance by none other than wrestler\/2015\u2019s best meme John Cena.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Thursday 17<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sGbxmsDFVnE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The big one. We really don\u2019t need to describe this one, do we?<\/p>\n<p>Ah, alright then. The first <em>Star Wars <\/em>film in 10 years sees new characters and old favourites return to take on another galactic threat, this time from a Darth Vader-looking chap called Kylo Ren. Details are fairly murky at the moment, but who cares? It\u2019s going to be great (fingers, toes and eyes crossed).<\/p>\n<p>Numerous cinema websites crashed when tickets were released for <em>The Force Awakens <\/em>in October, so we\u2019d recommend calling ahead before heading out to a showing.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Monday 21<sup>st<\/sup> December<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VYAlLcT5Lfk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The legendary cartoon dog and his best mate return for more hi-jinks as Snoopy pursues a baddie in the skies and Charlie Brown embarks on his own quest back home.<\/p>\n<p>This has received good reviews Stateside and is the first 3D Snoopy movie, so it could well be the pick of the family movies released this Christmas.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Boxing Day<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Daddy\u2019s Home<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OeknNwE4e1E\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Will Ferrell is a mild-mannered step father who is forced to compete with the affections of his wife\u2019s children after their much-cooler biker father (played by Mark Wahlberg) returns.<\/p>\n<p>The last time Ferrell and Wahlberg worked together was <em>The Other Guys<\/em>, so we\u2019ve got high hopes for this one!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>In the Heart of the Sea<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K-H35Mpj4uk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This monster movie tells the real-life story that inspired Moby Dick, with a giant whale hunting down a whaling ship, smashing it to bits and leaving the crew (which includes Chris Hemsworth and Cillian Murphy) stranded in the middle of nowhere.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully <em>In the Heart of the Sea <\/em>will focus more on the \u201d\u02dcbig whale smashing stuff\u2019 angle rather than painfully detailed descriptions of whale anatomy and the Victorian oil industry, unlike the book inspired by the event&#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>DVD releases<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Monday 7<sup>th<\/sup> December:<\/strong> Pixels, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Fear The Walking Dead, Trainwreck, Absolutely Anything, The Gift<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday 14<sup>th<\/sup> December:<\/strong> Paper Towns, Fantastic 4, The Bad Education Movie, The Last Kingdom, Vacation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boxing Day:<\/strong> Hitman: Agent 47<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When writing this post, we were tempted to type Star Wars 800 times and leave it at that.
