The onslaught of new presents and family at Christmas can cause problems even if your home is normally the pinnacle of minimalism, leaving you short on space and short on temper!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Luckily, we\u2019re here to help you prepare. Here are some top decluttering tips to help you get ready for Christmas and make sure you\u2019re too blessed to get stressed (mostly).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>General decluttering tips<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here are a few tips everyone should keep in mind, whatever or however much they\u2019re decluttering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\"><strong>Declutter in shifts<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The thing that puts most people off decluttering is the time involved. Who wants to tidy up when you could be doing something fun, like seeing how many pigs in blankets you can eat in one sitting?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Time doesn\u2019t have to be an obstacle, though. Rather than trying to declutter all in one go, try decluttering for half an hour every other day. If you aren\u2019t listening to it, a CD is nothing more than an ornament that someone might pick up and be impressed with someday. Maybe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So therefore, it\u2019s best just to sell whatever you don\u2019t listen to anymore. Not only will you make a bit of cash, but you\u2019ll make some much-needed space ahead of Christmas too!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But what counts as &#8216;anymore\u2019? We\u2019d say anything you haven\u2019t listened to for over a year. If you don\u2019t want to potentially lose some classics you <em>might <\/em>want to listen to, try losing anything you haven\u2019t <em>thought <\/em>about for over a year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\">\u00a0<strong>Sell anything embarrassing<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Everyone\u2019s music tastes change over time, which means you probably have quite a few CDs you\u2019d rather your friends didn\u2019t know about. We\u2019re looking at you, collection of super-serious emo albums from the mid-2000s. And don\u2019t think you\u2019re safe either, Fast Food Rockers!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\">\u00a0<strong>Lose rubbish Christmas presents from the past<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The ghost of Christmas past looms large in many CD collections. These are the albums your well-meaning aunt bought you after you told how into music you were. Unfortunately, she took that knowledge and decided to buy you <em>Super Pop Dance Ultra Fun Disco 2001. <\/em>Reflect on Christmases past &#8211; and get rid!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>DVDs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Your CD collection is done and dusted. Now it\u2019s time to move onto the DVDs!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\"><strong>Sell anything you don\u2019t watch anymore<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Like CDs, the quickest win when decluttering DVDs is to sell anything you don\u2019t watch anymore. Again, this can be anything you haven\u2019t watched over the last year or, if you\u2019re feeling extra strict, the past six months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The chances are you\u2019ll find some stone cold classics falling into this category, so allow yourself a &#8216;save list\u2019 of around 5 DVDs. Everything else must go.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\"><strong>Return anything you\u2019ve borrowed<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Have you ever looked at your DVD collection and wondered \u201d\u02dcwhere on earth has that copy of <em>Showgirls <\/em>come from?\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you have, the chances are you borrowed it from a friend and forgot to return it. Don\u2019t worry, it happens to us all. Try and remember who you borrowed it from and return it to them as an early Christmas present. We\u2019re sure they\u2019ll be very grateful (especially if it\u2019s a copy of <em>Showgirls<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\"><strong>Sell anything you can\u2019t remember buying<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These are the movies you bought in a fit of buying fury during a sale and promptly never watched. Some of them might even still be in the wrapper. Sell it and treat yourself to something new!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">*<em>completed means different things to different people. You\u2019ll know when you\u2019re done with a game, though. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\">Anticipate your gifts (or cheat and find out what they are)<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you\u2019re big into gaming, you\u2019re probably going to get at least one game this year. Try and figure out what it is, and what games it could potentially replace in your affections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Or, if you don\u2019t mind risking the wrath of Father Christmas\u2019s naughty list, sneak a look under the tree and find out exactly what you\u2019re getting. Don\u2019t expect anything more than a big pile of coal and shattered dreams next year, though.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #00aeef;\"><strong>The big &#8216;new console\u2019 clear out<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The PS4 and Xbox One have been reduced to a price that makes them viable Christmas presents for more people, so there\u2019s a greater chance of you getting one this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There are a few telltale signs that you\u2019re getting a new console: a sudden interest from your loved ones in your gaming tastes, being discouraged whenever you mention buying a new console and so on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you think you\u2019re getting a new console, start making plans to sell your old console and games.
