Check them out, pump them loud and camp out in the living room for your very own Download experience. Mud, sweat and beer optional, but recommended.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/StZcUAPRRac\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Mutter \u201d\u201c Rammstein <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Everyone\u2019s favourite German industrial metal band are notorious for their live antics, which usually involve copious amounts of fire, crude props and flying keyboardists (who are occasionally set on fire too). Their headline set on Friday night should be quite literally explosive.<\/p>\n<p>We definitely don\u2019t recommend shooting a flamethrower at home, but we <em>do <\/em>recommend blasting <em>Mutter<\/em>, Rammstein\u2019s 2000 classic which includes <em>Sonne <\/em>and<em> Feuer Frei<\/em>, at full blast while singing along at the top of your lungs. Give yourself extra points if you actually sing the words instead of gibberish which sounds a bit like German.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/mutter\">Buy Mutter by Rammstein on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TWiKdFqnIzw\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Paranoid \u201d\u201c Black Sabbath<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Given that they\u2019re currently on their final tour, Sabbath\u2019s performance on Saturday night could be their last ever appearance at a UK festival. It should be pretty special.<\/p>\n<p>If you can\u2019t be there, you can at least console yourself by playing some of their best music as loud as possible. Choosing just one album is difficult, but we\u2019ve opted for <em>Paranoid<\/em> because a) it has <em>Paranoid, Iron Man <\/em>and <em>War Pigs <\/em>on it and b) we really enjoy the trippier numbers like <em>Planet Caravan<\/em> too.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/paranoid-black-sabbath-black-sabbath-cd\">Buy Paranoid by Black Sabbath on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-F7A24f6gNc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Book of Souls \u201d\u201c Iron Maiden<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Again, there were a lot of albums we could have chosen here but we\u2019ve opted for Maiden\u2019s latest as their Download performance is part of <em>The Book of Souls <\/em>tour.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Book of Souls <\/em>is a brilliant Maiden album, with their trademark galloping riffs, soaring vocals and the three-pronged guitar attack sounding as good as it ever has \u201d\u201c even after 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>Recreating the live Iron Maiden experience is slightly difficult given how grand it usually is, although drinking some Trooper and pretending that every plane that flies over head is piloted by Bruce Dickinson usually helps.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/iron-maiden-the-book-of-souls\">Buy The Book of Souls by Iron Maiden on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jRGrNDV2mKc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Follow The Leader \u201d\u201c Korn<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Although they\u2019ve always been popular, Korn have had something of a renaissance recently thanks to their brilliant live shows, a grown up audience who still want to party like its 1998 and new fans who\u2019ve got into them thanks to the bands they\u2019ve influenced.<\/p>\n<p>Their performance on Friday is guaranteed to be great fun, although you can always get your funky on at home with this classic album, which features bona-fide <em>Kerrang!<\/em> TV classics like <em>Freak on a Leash <\/em>and <em>Got the Life<\/em>. Chuck on a sparkly Adidas tracksuit for the full nu metal experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/follow-the-leader\">Buy Follow the Leader by Korn on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JAmt6zN9vOk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Gore \u201d\u201c Deftones <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s not often that a band releases one of their best albums 28 years into their career, but we suppose Deftones aren\u2019t an ordinary band. Always standing out from their peers in the 90s metal scene thanks to their combination of crushing technical riffs and dreamlike choruses, they\u2019ve become one of metal\u2019s biggest and most beloved bands.<\/p>\n<p><em>Gore <\/em>upholds their reputation for experimentation, taking more than a little influence from Chino Moreno\u2019s alt-rock side project Team Sleep, while maintaining plenty of mosh-worthy riffs too. They should be one of Download\u2019s highlights, and therefore one of your faux-Download highlights!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/gore\">Buy Gore by Deftones on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GvD3CHA48pA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Metal Resistance \u201d\u201c Babymetal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Imagine Metallica performing the soundtrack to an anime cartoon and you\u2019ve more or less got Babymetal \u201d\u201c although even that doesn\u2019t do their insane but brilliant sound justice.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re basically a Japanese girl band backed by a bona-fide death metal band, mixing the riffs and breakdowns of metal with some of the catchiest choruses known to man. They\u2019ve caused a real stir in the metal scene, with their live performances getting particular praise. They could well be the highlight of this year\u2019s festival!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/babymetalmetalresis-a0e12d39-5016-44f8-b218-1549c52953b6\">Buy Metal Resistance by Babymetal on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CBZtRtw-2cE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>From Mars to Sirius &#8211; Gojira<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>With a new album due out in a couple of weeks, 2016 could be the year French extremists Gojira finally break into the mainstream. It\u2019d be about time too; metal fans have been enjoying their heavy riffs and environmentally-influenced lyrics for years.<\/p>\n<p><em>From Mars to Sirius <\/em>is the band\u2019s second album and arguably their best. It\u2019s rammed full of unforgettable riffs that are impossible not to get carried away to. We defy you not to get carried away when <em>Backbone <\/em>comes on \u201d\u201c just make sure you move the furniture before you start a one-man circle pit.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/from-mars-to-sirius-gojira\">Buy From Mars to Sirius by Gojira on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KTUCGRu_DL4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Disgusting \u201d\u201c Beartooth<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Beartooth are one of the hottest bands in rock at the moment, riding a wave of hype that has taken them all the way to Download\u2019s main stage on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Fronted by ex-<em>Attack Attack! <\/em>vocalist Caleb Shomo, Beartooth play metalcore in the same vein as bands like August Burns Red and A Day to Remember. That means melodic riffs, brutal breakdowns and big, big choruses \u201d\u201c perfect for a festival!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/disgusting-beartooth\">Buy Disgusting by Beartooth on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HsvAZRuz9Js\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Punk in Drublic \u201d\u201c NOFX<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Punk legends NOFX are headlining the second stage on Saturday and it\u2019s pretty much guaranteed to be awesome.<\/p>\n<p><em>Punk In Drublic <\/em>is NOFX\u2019s highest selling album and is generally considered to be one of the best pop punk albums ever made. It\u2019s full of big hooks and catchy choruses, with a healthy dollop of humour for good measure.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/store.musicmagpie.co.uk\/products\/punk-in-drublic\">Buy Punk in Drublic by NOFX on the musicMagpie Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LJ2t4jfVTiU\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>ANThology \u201d\u201c Alien Ant Farm<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Remember Alien Ant Farm? That band who did the <em>Smooth Criminal <\/em>cover?<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re back! Yep, 2016 is the beginning of the great AAF renaissance, with a Friday slot on the main stage a big step forward.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the perfect excuse to dig out their debut, which is jam-packed with bangers.
