We\u2019ve taken a load of classic 90s movies, added together their Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB user scores and worked out an overall average score. We then ranked all those movies to find out which 90s movie the collective internet loves most.<\/p>\n<p>(note: where two or more movies have the same average score, we\u2019ve used the total number of reviews to determine their position!).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong>10 \u201d\u201c Saving Private Ryan (1998)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/d73gImA5wzndS\" width=\"480\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/movie-film-ww2-d73gImA5wzndS\">via GIPHY<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rotten Tomatoes: 95<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMDB: 86<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall: 92.5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Saving Private Ryan <\/em>highlights the personal tragedies and anguishes of one of the most tragic conflicts in human history, while capturing the wider horrors of war too.<\/p>\n<p>The opening sequence, set during the D-Day landing, is still unbelievably powerful nearly 20 years later, and the emotional journey to find the last surviving Ryan brother is equally heartbreaking. Following a family incarcerated in a concentration camp, a father tries to shield his son from their horrific situation by pretending they\u2019re in a competition to win an armoured tank.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s both hilarious and heartbreaking, the kind of movie that\u2019ll make you laugh, cry and hug everyone within a 100 metre radius. The film, which follows detectives as try to find the criminals behind the destruction of a freighter and the murder of practically everyone on board, builds the myth of the apparent mastermind, merciless drug baron Keyser Soze, masterfully through the testimony of a petty criminal &#8211; making the final twist all the more shocking.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong>7 \u201d\u201c American History X (1998)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XfQYHqsiN5g\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rotten Tomatoes: 96<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMDB: 86<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong># of reviews: 1.2 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall: 91<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>American History X<\/em> charts the fall and rise of Derek Vinyard, who forms a Neo-Nazi gang after his father is murdered. A stint in prison causes Derek to\u00a0question his beliefs, however, and he tries to stop his younger brother falling in with the same crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Edward Norton\u2019s performance as Derek is arguably his best ever, earning him an Academy Award nomination, while Edward Furlong\u2019s performance helped him move out of the shadow cast by his role as John Connor in <em>Terminator 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>American History X <\/em>is one of the most difficult, heart-breaking movies of the 90s, but it still strikes a strong note in today\u2019s political climate.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong>6 \u201d\u201c Forrest Gump (1994)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/QLKSt3wQqlj7a\" width=\"480\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/QLKSt3wQqlj7a\">via GIPHY<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rotten Tomatoes: 95<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMDB: 88<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall: 91.5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Forrest Gump <\/em>tells the tale of a simple man who does remarkable things but only really wants the love of his childhood sweetheart.<\/p>\n<p>Despite sweeping the Oscars, <em>Forrest Gump <\/em>isn\u2019t universally loved by critics. It currently has 74% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is okay but not fantastic.<\/p>\n<p>Audiences seem to disagree though \u201d\u201c and we do too.
