They vary from director commentaries, deleted scenes, bloopers and making-of documentaries. We\u2019ve found the best special features around so you don\u2019t have to!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y2rYRu8UW8M\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Lord of the Rings<\/h3>\n<p>Peter Jackson\u2019s interpretations of the works of J.R. R Tolkien are hugely popular; <em>The Lord of the Rings<\/em> trilogy is one of the highest-grossing film series of all time. Fans of the film series can delve even deeper into Middle Earth with the special features in the trilogy \u201d\u201c including documentaries on how the movies were made, features on Tolkien and cinematic trailers.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E77LfnMI-34\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Memento<\/h3>\n<p>Christopher Nolan\u2019s 2000 thriller was commercially successful, bringing in $30 million more than budget in the box office. The special features on the DVD of <em>Memento<\/em> is one of the best around; there is a chronological version of the film hidden within the features, helping you keep track of the story.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N63XSUpe-0o\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">This is Spinal Tap<\/h3>\n<p>As if the rock mockumentary <em>This is Spinal Tap<\/em> wasn\u2019t funny enough, the cast did a full commentary in character as part of the special features for DVD. There are also promotional shorts, deleted scenes and abandoned subplots to enjoy!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eogpIG53Cis\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Blade Runner<\/h3>\n<p>If you get your hands on the 5-Disc Collector\u2019s Edition, it is jam-packed with brilliant content in the special features. There are five different versions of the film, audio commentaries, featurettes and background on author Philip K. Dick.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vKQi3bBA1y8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Ultimate Matrix Trilogy<\/h3>\n<p>The aptly named <em>Ultimate Matrix Trilogy<\/em> contains 10 discs \u201d\u201c <em>The Matrix Trilogy<\/em>, <em>The Animatrix<\/em> shorts and documentaries. There\u2019s commentary from critics, commentary from philosophers as well as hours of music chosen by the Wachowskis. There\u2019s value for money on features and then there\u2019s this!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mfmrPu43DF8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Hunger Games<\/h3>\n<p>The full, four film collection on Blu-Ray is pretty spectacular. There\u2019s a two-hour documentary for <em>The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1<\/em> as well as a tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman and director\u2019s commentaries \u201d\u201c without counting the bonus disc which itself is packed full of featurettes and deleted scenes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6iyp0qcf7-w\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Almost Famous<\/h3>\n<p>Cameron Crowe\u2019s <em>Almost Famous<\/em> is known for helping to launch the career of Kate Hudson. In the DVD\u2019s special features, Crowe sits down and dissects his film in the special featured commentary alongside his mother. Highly regarded as some of the best commentaries around, it\u2019s insightful and in-depth without becoming tiresome.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gLvhJ0m5ask\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Clerks II<\/h3>\n<p>Kevin Smith\u2019s 2006 comedy was so well-received when first released that an eight-minute standing ovation was given when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. The special features on the DVD of <em>Clerks II<\/em> includes commentary by Smith, deleted scenes and bloopers. The real gem is the 90-minute, making-of documentary \u201d\u02dcBack To The Well: Clerks II\u2019 \u201d\u201c it\u2019s almost as long as the film itself!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YnDeJn-BX5Q\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The 40 Year Old Virgin<\/h3>\n<p>Yet another Judd Apatow classic, with a strong comedic line-up including Steve Carrell, Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd; you already know the special features will be golden. You\u2019ve got a commentary of the film with Apatow and various cast members, Judd\u2019s video diaries but best of all is the Date-A-Palooza \u201d\u201c it looks at Andy and the guys on their speed dating luncheon and is even funnier than the scene that made the cut.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/njdreZRjvpc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Wizard of Oz<\/h3>\n<p>Whilst a few versions of this utter classic have been released, the 70<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary Ultimate Collector\u2019s Edition is a work of art. The film \u00a0has been rendered and looks beautiful, but fans also have an astonishing 16 hours of bonus features to enjoy. This includes a featurette on director Victor Fleming, a piece commemorating the Munchkins\u2019 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a sing-along track complete with lyrics.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In the mood to indulge in these fantastic extras?
