{"id":991,"date":"2014-07-09T15:47:08","date_gmt":"2014-07-09T15:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.3.178\/?p=991"},"modified":"2015-01-06T11:00:36","modified_gmt":"2015-01-06T11:00:36","slug":"disney-are-planning-the-weirdest-remake-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicmagpie.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/07\/09\/disney-are-planning-the-weirdest-remake-ever\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney Are Planning The Weirdest Remake Ever"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There have been countless remakes and reboots recently, with even more in the pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>But none of them are quite as weird as Disney\u2019s latest plan: remake Dumbo.<\/p>\n<p>The animated classic, which was released in 1941, is being reimagined as a live action movie <a title=\"according to a report by Empire Magazine\" href=\"https:\/\/www.totalfilm.com\/news\/disney-planning-dumbo-remake\">according to a report by Empire Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just to repeat: Disney are planning to make a live action version of a movie about a flying elephant with massive ears.<\/p>\n<p>It seems like a weird idea considering that they aren\u2019t even that many human characters in Dumbo. Most of the characters are elephants, mice or&#8230;erm, talking vehicles (which are notoriously hard to cast).<\/p>\n<p>Presumably Dumbo will be a CGI elephant rather than a real elephant, although the latter would definitely make for the funnier film. We\u2019re also looking forward to seeing how Disney tackle the infamous \u201d\u02dcpink elephants\u2019 scene too.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the only live action remake Disney are planning either, with <i>Cinderella, The Jungle Book<\/i> (which already has a live action version) and <i>Beauty and the Beast<\/i> all in the works too.
