Keeping in touch with friends during lockdown is a little easier for gamers, with 3 out of 4 of players catching up through online gaming instead of by phone. Over half of the players we spoke to said online gaming has kept friendships alive that otherwise would have been lost.
Online gaming isn’t just great for existing friends. The survey revealed that over half of all UK gamers have met new, lifelong friends through gaming. If the aim of your game is to find romance, then MLB The Show 20 is the game for you, with 1 in 4 players dating someone they met whist playing it online.
It’s not all fairy tales in the gaming world though, with over half of all gamers to arguing with their partners over the amount of time they spend on their console or damaging their controller or console in anger over gameplay.

From our top 20, the most annoying thing an online gamer can do, according to the 1,000 gamers surveyed, is cheat through hacks, bots or cheat codes - with 2 out of 3 getting extremely annoyed at this. At the bottom of the list as least annoying is having new players on your team, showing a friendly and welcoming side to the gaming world.
