When looking to sell your old phone, there’s a few factors to take into consideration when getting a valuation.
Condition
The condition of your phone is a major factor in determining its value! Our three conditions are:
- Good - Your device is fully functional and there’s no damage e.g chips, cracks, or water damage.
- Poor - Your device is fully functional but there’s heavy wear and tear such as deep scratches, dents, and scuffs.
- Faulty - The phone isn’t fully functional with problems such as hardware issues, faulty screen, cosmetic and water damage, phone sensors aren’t working, damaged pixels or pressure marks. If your phone is bent, missing components, crushed or snapped in half then we can’t buy it.
Locked to a network or unlocked
You’re more likely to get more money for your phone if it’s unlocked. Unlocked Phones aren’t associated with a network so they give you more freedom to choose a deal that suits you. If you’re not sure if your phone is unlocked or not, check our ‘how do I know if my phone is unlocked’ guide.
Storage
The storage of your Phone also contributes to the value. The more storage capacity your device has, the more you will get for it. Just choose which storage option applies to your Phone. However, consider that market prices can fluctuate.
Phone depreciation
Phone depreciation occurs when newer Phones are released; the value of older models will drop, some more than others. Also, your phone will lose a little value as soon as you take your phone out of the box when you first buy it.
Therefore, it’s best to sell your Phone as soon as possible to make sure you get the best price for it.
