Just follow these steps to fully set up your new iPhone:
- Turn the device on and choose your language, country, or region.
- If you’re changing from an old iPhone to new iPhone and it has iOS 11 or later, use Quick Start instead. All you need to do is place your current iPhone and new iPhone together to start the process. Just make sure you know your Apple ID and follow the instructions on the screen. This will transfer your information a lot quicker to your new iPhone.
- Activate your device - you will need a Wi-Fi connection or SIM card if you’ve got an iPhone (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
- Set up Face ID or Touch ID. You can use facial recognition or the fingerprint scanner to unlock your iPhone or make purchases through Apple Pay and Apple App Store. You’ll need a passcode for this which can be created in ‘Password Options’.
- Restore or transfer information - if you have an iCloud account or Android backup you can transfer information and data from your old device. If you haven’t backed anything up, choose ‘Don’t Transfer Apps & Data’.
- Sign in with Apple ID. Enter your details, or if you don’t have an Apple ID choose ‘Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?’
- Decide if to update iOS automatically or share information with app developers by turning on ‘automatic updates and set up other features.’
- Set up Siri or choose ‘set up later in settings’
