Alex Osmond has worked as an Academic Skills Adviser, helping to launch Brunel University's ever-expanding ASK service, and is now VLE Project Manager at the university. As part of these roles he has provided guidance to students both online and face-to-face, and students consistently praise the advice he has given, which has often translated directly into higher grades.
Alex has also taught a wide variety of skills sessions across Brunel's degree programmes, working to develop online resources aimed at improving academic writing, and also co-managed the Study Skills Collection at Brunel University Library.
Before working at Brunel, Alex worked at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, also as an Academic Skills Adviser. Alex has focused on the English language in his studies and work for several years, and his approach highlights the importance of independent learning leading to well-rounded students.
