This lovely new title looks at the lives of chimpanzees - from their birth to growing up, how they feed, grow, rest and clean. Glorious, large colour photographs show the chimpanzee at every stage of its life. Simple, engaging text allows young readers to understand a chimpanzee's life.

There is also information about the threats that chimpanzees face and how we can help them to survive in the future.

Here's what you say about us...

The author, Patricia Kendell, writes material to help children understand why wildlife is in danger and what they can do to help. She is also a part-time Education Officer with WWF-UK.

The consultant Richard Barnwell first came across chimpanzees in the 1970s in the Gashaka Gumti National Park in Nigeria, where he worked on the park's early development. He is now Head of Africa Team, International Programmes, WWF-UK.

The real test for any marketing claims laid on classroom resources lies with real classroom practice and exposure to real children.
In the Wild books passed this test with flying colours when I used them recently across three reception classes, and they generated a real buzz of enthusiastic sharing and questioning....
Its success is due to its fabulous photography, making all aspects of the animal's life visually accessible, and giving rise to excellent opportunities for discussion and questioning.
