The pieces are educationally and musically sound...and the books contain a lot of music for not a lot of money. It's no mean feat to compose worthwhile pieces that students will enjoy, within the technical restrictions prescribed for each level and without being condescending, but these purpose-built works are really well thought-out and fit the bill very nicely.
