1970s thriller directed by Saul Bass. In a desert in Arizona biologist Ernest Hubbs (Nigel Davenport) has set up an observation point where he is able to study a population of ants who have wiped out all predators and begin to pose a threat to humanity. Hubbs' initial plans to eradicate the colony fail and with analyst James Lesko (Michael Murphy) and a young woman named Kendra (Lynne Frederick), who survived an ant attack, they make efforts to communicate with the intelligent ants to discover what their motivations are.
