It's Princess Florrie's birthday. She is tired of all the usual entertainment - jugglers, jesters and acrobats and wants something a little unusual for her party. Something like a dreadful dragon. The rest of the palace is convinced he's too dreadful, but Princess Florrie likes a challenge so she decides to write him a letter!
An grew up in Belgium. She moved to London in 1989 to study animation at the Royal College of Art. Besides writing and illustrating picture books, she has a very successful career as an animator. An won the Nottingham Children's Book Award 2004. She lives in Harrow with her husband and their two children.
