Description

Acclaimed documentary footage of the Spanish Civil War by American director Russell Palmer. The only known colour footage shot during the protracted and bloody war in Spain from 1939 to 1939 was shot by an ideological young American film maker who set out to capture the war from every angle. Here viewers can marvel at battlefield footage shot as Palmer spent time among the Moor Units and the Spanish Foreign Legion as well as some extraordinary angles including air-to-air combat scenes of the 'Flying Turkeys' squadron on the Nationalist side strafing Republican positions. Also included is a bonus film 'This Spanish Earth' depicting the siege of Madrid by Ernest Hemingway.
