A trio of silent features from Universal Pictures made in the 1920s. In 'Skinner's Dress Suit' (1926) meek clerk Skinner (Reginald Denny) is encouraged by his wife, Mrs. Honey Skinner (Laura La Plante), to approach his boss about getting a pay rise. However, when his request is turned down Skinner does not dare tell her the truth. Believing that his pay has increased, Mrs. Skinner goes ahead and purchases an expensive new suit. In 'The Shield of Honor' (1927) Jack MacDowell (Neil Hamilton) is recruited by the LAPD as a pilot in their new air force regiment. When a gang of jewellery thieves go on a spree MacDowell is given the perfect opportunity to show off his skills as a pilot. In 'The Shakedown' (1929) corrupt fighter Dave Roberts (James Murray) stops taking bribes when he falls in love with a waitress, Marjorie (Barbara Kent), and wishes to impress her. An encounter with a young orphan boy (Jack Hanlon) also prompts Dave to continue to improve his life for the better.
