Tom Colvin has been instrumental in the state of Iowa for animal protection since 1974. He has been director of the Cedar Bend Humane Society and shelter director of Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Tom has been president of the Iowa Federation of Humane Societies since 1981. Paula received a BS in Zoology from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She worked as a medical technician for the Cedar Bend Humane Society and realized she wanted to help pet owners sove issues that were causing them to place their pets in shelters. She began working at the Animal Rescue League in Iowa in the 1990's. She evaluated shelter dogs to place them in compatible homes and worked with ARL volunteers on programs to train and socialize shelter dogs and puppies before adoption. Mick McAulife joined the ARL staff in 1990. He has worked extensively in canine training and served as Director of Animal Behavior and Training for the R.S.P.C.A. Queensland, Australia.
