Senior Inspector of the Regional Crime Unit Cheung Sung-bong (Yen) is an experienced and diligent professional who is sometimes regarded as being too unbending in his desire for professional perfection. Following an internal investigation Cheung testifies against his former protégé Yau Kong-ngo (Nicholas Tse). Believing that Cheung has betrayed their friendship, Yau swears revenge against the man he once looked up to.
