2009 collection, the second release on World Audio Foundation label features the deep sacred and spiritual vocal music from the Georgian Republic in Eastern Europe - at the border between Europe and Asia. Dating back to pre-Christian times, Georgian polyphonic chants are uniquely complex polyphonic melodies and comprise music sung for the Georgian Orthodox liturgical services. The Anchiskati Choir is the world's leading exponent of Georgian polyphonic music.
