Born in 1970 and brought up in the North East of England, Kara qualified as a primary school teacher in 1992 and embarked on a teaching career which has taken her overseas to Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and now to China.
As a teacher, sharing books and stories with children has been a highlight and it is Kara's love for storytelling that has led her to write herself. In her spare time Kara enjoys visiting churches and castles as well as exploring exciting Asian destinations, sampling the local food and soaking in the culture. She now lives and works in China with her husband and son where she is Deputy Head of an international school.
