Play it Again is a primetime BBC1 TV series which will take 6 celebrities on a journey to learn to play a musical instrument or rediscover their lost childhood abilities. Our presenters are: Bill Oddie, on electric guitar; Jo Brand, on organ; Frank Skinner, on banjo; Dianne Abbot, classical piano; Aled Jones, drums; Prof Robert Winston, saxophone.

This will be a wonderful piece of TV, with engaging, high-profile presenters, but it will also inspire the audience to take their own journeys to rediscover or indeed discover for the first time the joy of being able to play a musical instrument. The book will use the celebrity stories to animate the how-to element but is also a fantastic, stand-alone guide to where to start learning a musical instrument as an adult. Whether you're a wannabe rock guitarist, or just want to grab some 'me' time by locking yourself away from the kids with the piano, this book will inspire and provide you with the tools to get up and have a go yourself.

This will be a big event for the BBC - hence it going on to BBC 1 rather than 2 - so it will be trailed heavily across BBC TV and radio.
