Your understanding and application of the principles of professional conduct are crucial; they represent the foundation of all that you will achieve at the Bar. This manual contains the necessary guidance and key practical texts that you will need to help you through these sometimes problematic areas of practice. The focus of the manual is on the development of your skills to deal efficiently with professional conduct matters. One aspect of your vocational training will be the application of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales, and this manual contains the full Code and its Miscellaneous Guidance. Your understanding of professional conduct and ethics must however reach further than a simple familiarization with the Code of Conduct. This manual also discusses the broader ethical considerations that you will need to be aware of when working at the Bar today.
