The stories of how it happened are told simply and shortly, demonstrating how people won their way out of one of the worst of all misfortunes.;The second part of the book is a 100 page directory of organizations which can help the long-term unemployed; not just government agencies, but independent bodies, political and charitable institutions and commercial companies from whom information and support is available.;This book has been compiled by a group of cross-bench Members of Parliament, under the stewardship of Hartley Booth, MP for Finchley. The other MPs who have been involved in the project are Sebastian Coe, Harry Greenaway, Nicholas Harvey, Glenda Jackson, Grenville Janner and Ernie Ross.
