Penelope Spheeris writes and directs this cult drama about disaffected youth in Los Angeles in the 1980s. When his mother is arrested for drink driving offenses teenager Evan Johnson (Bill Coyne) befriends hardcore punk Jack Diddley (Chris Pedersen), and finds a new home among the misfits of the punk scene. However, the middle-class residents are far from happy at the presence of the squatters and soon a fierce battle takes place between the rival groups.
