Here's what you say about us...

Hattie Hasan was born in North East London to first generation Turkish Cypriot parents. Rather than enter an arranged marriage, she studied Psychology at London University and went on to attain a post graduate degree at Reading University. She taught in several inner London schools until 1990 when she retrained as a plumber and started one of the first companies of women plumbers in the UK. Stopcocks Women Plumbers now encompasses self employed female plumbers throughout that country. Hattie travels speaking to schools, colleges and industry about the importance of women plumbers and supports female students to start their own business. She lives in rural Yorkshire with her partner and dog.

A charming book, packed with useful advice and real insights. Useful not just for would-be women plumbers, but anyone looking to make a difference to their lives.
Mike Southon, Financial Times Columnist and best-selling business author

The Joy of Plumbing is a wonderful, irresistible book: perceptive, funny, compassionate and always breathtakingly honest. Hattie Hasan invites us on a compelling, personal journey of discovery, celebrating the strength of women with warmth, wisdom - and water. A lasting liquid legacy!
Mike Symes, MD Strand Financial

It's a really clever blend of fact, memoir and motivational treatise, about personal development and the power of change and that can be applied to anyone and I really loved that about it - it's very well put together.
Dr Rachel Connor, author, creative writing facilitator, lecturer

I love the way you break everything down. It makes me think anything is possible. It makes me want to fly back to Africa and do what I love doing. It's very inspiring to young women.
Huriye Solkanat, 20yr old student
