One day, Tommy wears a pink tutu to school. After his mother expresses her concern, he decides to wear it anyway. Bullying becomes a minor problem as Tommy discovers he has a bigger problem to face; which toilet should Tommy use? The girls' or the boys'?

Inspired by a true story, this is a whimsically illustrated and magical story of self-discovery. Tommy has to overcome a lot of things; his mother, bullies, school rules, social norms and his own self. A forward-thinking book relevant in today's changing social realms; Tommy Tutu inspires adults and children alike. To not only embrace tutus, but to always stay true to yourself.

A revolutionary children's book where everything weird is wonderful. Part of the Awkward + Awesome series.

Here's what you say about us...

Lindsay Ford is an author and illustrator celebrating the weird and wonderful. All of her children's picture books and characters are inspired by true stories and real individuals who are all unsuspecting heroes that have made a change in the world. She writes about awkward things in a very awesome way in the hopes of opening hearts, one book at a time. All stories are geared toward supporting and bringing awareness to mental health and self-discovery. In her own adventures with mental health, Lindsay decided to befriend hers using it as a catalyst and teammate to help inspire and create every book. Each story shines a light on what is beautifully different and odd, encouraging every reader to embrace their own awkwardly awesome self. She shines her weird light in the form of art and story in the hopes that it finds other weirdos and oddballs and helps guide them in embracing their own weird; because being different is the rarest, most beautiful gift you can give yourself, and the world. She is a self-taught illustrator and author who hones her craft by creating more art and story, along side her daughter, every day.
