This fascinating collection of old and new views explores the histories of Weymouth and Portland. Edwin Seward was a pioneer in news photography, recording many dramatic scenes long before photographs were even a feature of newspapers. This book draws upon his postcard views, and reveals both towns as they appeared at the dawn of the age of the motorcar. Many of the scenes in this book have changed dramatically over the last century, but many others will be instantly recognisable today. Accompanied by informative and entertaining captions exploring the histories of Weymouth and of the Isle of Portland, this nostalgic collection will delight both residents and visitors alike.
