The most talked about TV character is Euphoria’s Rue. Not only did the HBO character get the most fans talking in the last year, she also bagged the top prize for the most loved TV character.

Taking second place is Klaus from Umbrella Academy. Known for his quick wit and no-nonsense talking, it’s no surprise to see him in a top spot.

In third is Villanelle from the BBC drama Killing Eve and the fictional character from Luke Jennings’s novel Codename Villanelle. First hitting our screens in 2018, this Russian assassin is talked about for her fashion sense as much as she is for her ruthless persona.

The TV character receiving the most positive tweets is Johnny from Schitt’s Creek. Closely followed by onscreen wife Moira who came second.

A further five Schitt’s Creek characters make it into the top 10, reflecting the huge following of the show, which has become a popular source of memes.

Taking the top spot for the highest percentage of negative tweets is Carole Baskin, the TV personality from Netflix’s Tiger King. The American zookeeper is infamous for her feud with Joe Exotic and the TV series left us with one big question, ‘Did Carole Baskin really kill her husband?’

Sharing the runner up spot is Billy Butcher from Amazon’s series The Boys, Jonathan from The Undoing and Brett Oppenheim from Netflix’s Selling Sunset. Despite all three TV personalities landing in second place, the trio actually only saw 30 per cent of their tweets written with a negative connotation. The rest were either positive or neutral.
