According to "Time" magazine, 69% of all American adults believe in angels. This work responds to our angel obsession with an exploration of 300 angel-related topics - including fallen angels. It spans classical and other mythology; Christianity, Islam and other religions; literature and art; ancient, contemporary and popular culture; and psychology. This approach aims to make the book appealing, not only to angel devotees and collectors, but also to readers with widely varied interests. The text discusses the angels themselves, the people who depict them, the myths and religions that embrace them and what's been written about them, including: biblical angels - like Gabriel, Michael and Lucifer; different classifications of angels - such as the valkyries from Norse mythology and hafaza from Islamic tradition; writers and artists whose work depicted angels - such as Frank Peretti, Michelangelo and Raphael; and fictional angels, like Clarence from the film "It's a Wonderful Life".
