Choosing a refurbished iPhone 12 is a much cheaper option than buying new, but there are a few different factors that can affect the iPhone 12 second hand price, such as:

Condition - At the musicMagpie Store, you’ll be able to choose from three refurbished conditions and then a fourth condition which is new. The new condition means you’ll pay full price for the iPhone.

  • Pristine refers to the device being a fully tested pristine product in excellent working order.
  • Very Good refers to the device being in a very good cosmetic condition with only light signs of use.
  • Good refers to the device having signs of wear and tear but has been fully tested and is in great working order.

Storage - The iPhone 12 has three storage options, including 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Take into consideration that the price will increase if you choose a larger capacity model.

Network - The second hand iPhone 12 price can also be affected if you’re buying a device locked to a network. If you’re looking to buy a locked device, make sure to choose the correct network.

Yes, you can buy a second hand iPhone 12 on its own without a plan. You don’t have to commit to a lengthy contract in order to get an iPhone 12, but you’re best buying an unlocked iPhone 12..

Not sure what an unlocked Phone is? an unlocked phone is a device that is not locked to a network and any SIM card can be used. Unlocked phones give the user more freedom to shop around for the best Phone deals and SIM only deals.

If you buy an iPhone 12 which is locked, this means it will only work with the network it was bought from. You won’t be able to use a different network SIM, only one from the same network.

Take into consideration, there is a price difference between locked Phones and unlocked devices.

There are 4 models in the iPhone 12 series, including the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

If you’re looking for a smaller phone but with all the latest features, the iPhone 12 Mini is perfect! With a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR Display, it weighs just 4.70 ounces, is 5.18 inches tall and 2.53 inches wide.

If you want a larger display but still want to save money, a second hand iPhone 12 is a good option. It has the same features as the Mini, including storage options 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. However, it has a bigger display, which is 6.1 inches and weighs 5.73 ounces.

The iPhone 12 Pro has the same display size as the iPhone 12, but it offers more features, including an extra camera and it has Lidar scanning for better depth perception and spatial awareness.

The top of the range is the iPhone 12 Pro Max! It has the largest screen, which has more power, great for watching movies and playing games. Plus it has a triple-lens camera with a larger sensor as well as a telephoto lens with better zoom.

The iPhone 12 is the first to feature 5G, but you don’t have to use 5G if you don’t want to and you can still use 4G networks with the device instead.

5G gives us faster downloading speeds, more capacity and is a lot faster than 4G. However, connectivity all depends on your network and location. You would need to be connected to a network that supports 5G or have a 5G mobile plan. If 5G is turned on, it will automatically use 5G wherever it’s available.

It’s also really easy to turn off 5G on your iPhone 12, just follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings, Cellular and then Cellular Data Options.
  2. Choose the option Voice and Data.
  3. Choose the LTE option to switch off the default 5G Auto, you can switch back to using 5G whenever you want.

If you’re not sure whether your phone is 5G activated, when you’re in a 5G area, simply go to Settings, Mobile, Mobile Data Options and the screen should display if the 5G option is activated.

The iPhone 12 and the rest of the models in the range (including refurbished iPhone 12 models from musicMagpie) are not waterproof but they are water resistant.

Water resistance refers to the device being able to resist a certain amount of water but not entirely and this is measured using an IP rating. Whereas if a phone is waterproof, water is unable to pass through it or damage it.

The iPhone 12 has a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529, which means it can be in a maximum depth of six metres of water for up to 30 minutes.

If your iPhone comes into contact with a liquid apart from water, such as coffee, tea, fizzy drinks etc, rinse it off with water and wipe it with a cloth. Make sure your iPhone 12 is dry before you attempt removing excess water and do not dry it with a heat source, this can cause further damage.

Unfortunately, the iPhone 12 doesn’t come with a charger, but it does come with a Lightning-to-USB-C cable and it still has the normal Lightning port. You have the option to use an existing Lightning cable and the USB-A power charger. If you buy a refurbished iPhone from musicMagpie, your device will come with Lightning-to-USB-C cable as standard.

If you’re thinking ‘what charger does iPhone 12 use?’, a USB-C charger will charge your phone faster but it doesn’t come in the box so you will have to buy it separately.

Wondering ‘can you charge iPhone 12 with an old charger?’, yes you can. The standard USB-A charger is safe to use with your iPhone 12 and it won’t damage the battery. However, the iPhone 12 battery is much bigger so it requires a more powerful charger, so you may find it charges slower with a standard charger.

Alternatively, you can use a Qi-compatible wireless charging mat with your iPhone 12 but when the Phone gets hotter, the charge is reduced to protect the battery.

Instead, there’s a magnetic area on the back of the iPhone 12 called MagSafe. It’s a better version of Qi because the magnets auto-align with the case, however, to use this function, you would need to buy a MagSafe charger separately.
