This highly attractive introduction to a subject that is of real fascination to young children looks at the variety of homes and their relationship to the environment people inhabit in different parts of the world.

In a nearly square format, the book is easily handled by children and is clearly and stunningly illustrated with bright colour photographs. It contains contents, a combined index and glossary, and captions to provide experience of the organisational features of non-fiction. It has also been checked by literacy and geography consultants.

Here's what you say about us...

ROSIE McCORMICK moved to New York to do an MA and then spent four years as a teacher there before moving into publishing, working on Scholastic school magazines. On her return to the UK she worked for DK, Kingfisher and Franklin Watts as an editor and managing editor. She is now a writer and mother to two young children. Her books include the FUN FINDING OUT series for Kingfisher and several titles in the Shooting Stars science series for Belitha.

With a high photographs to text ratio these are easy-access books for young children and as well as being good first reference books, we found them useful to read aloud at home to an information-hungry four-year-old.
