Barone's Big Band was an institution at Donte's in North Hollywood from 1966-69 - this album features 2 nights in 1968 w. an all-star lineup inc. Bill Perkins, Med Flory, Bill Hood, Jack Nimitz, Lou Ciotti, Buddy Childers, Gary Barone & many others. Mike Barone was one of the busiest arrangers in Hollywood at the time, providing over 300 charts to Doc Severensen's Tonite Show Band. This is one of the most swinging and hip big band recordings of the 1960's. Very well recorded by George Jerman. A must have for all fans of big band jazz.
