Although the racing genre is perhaps a little overpopulated, games like Crazy Taxi proved that there are still things to be done with these types of games. Innovating that little bit more is Midas with the release of Road Wage. Racing never looked so good!
Unlike many other racing games, Road Wage hires the player to perform tasks within a city. Most of these missions include picking up a package in one place and delivering it to another. The basic concept of the game is to earn as much cash as possible. Doing so will allow the player access to better vehicles, via their bulging bank account. Some vehicles will be quicker, while others will have a higher level of manoeuvrability. The choice is yours. Such methods of progression are reminiscent of racing classics like Road Rash and Gran Turismo.
Road Wage's graphics are typically 3D, and are pleasing to the eye. If you're wary of other drivers on the road, don't be. This game was not built to make the player cautious, it was made to be pure fun. Running over other cars with a massive Junk Truck is a memorable experience, and features some spectacular explosions.
All in all, the Road Wage experience is highly addictive. There is an infinite amount of thrilling racing to take part in, and getting paid is the best reward you can ask for.
