Georg W. Pabst directs this classic silent drama from the 1920s. Jeanne Ney (Édith Jéhanne) flees Russia as the Bolsheviks come close to taking power. Once in Paris, however, she continues to be caught up in the on-going battles between communists and revolutionaries. The arrival of her lover Andreas (Uno Henning) along with devious agent Khalibiev (Fritz Rasp) sets in motion a series of events that will put Jeanne's life at risk.
