Box set containing four popular Peter Sellers movies. In 'Dr Strangelove' (1963), when lunatic General Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden) launches a nuclear attack on Russia, President Merkin Muffley (Sellers) of the United States consults his advisors, among them the wheelchair-bound, ex-Nazi scientist Dr Strangelove (also Sellers). Meanwhile, British officer Captain Mandrake (Sellers again) attempts to cancel the unplanned attack. In 'The Mouse That Roared' (1959), Sellers again takes on three roles. The Duchy of Grand Fenwick (Sellers) is facing financial ruin after his best export, a fine wine, has been copied and undercut by an American company. Sellers plays two people who declare war on the USA. They admit defeat almost instantly and then benefit from the handout of aid they are sure to get. However, things don't quite go according to plan. In 'The Party' (1968), Sellers plays an accident-prone Indian actor, Hrundi V. Bakshi, at large in Hollywood where he ruins a big-budget movie and is thrown off the set by the producer. However, the producer then invites Bakshi to a Hollywood party where he manages to cause havoc once again; but this time with party guests such as a drunken starlet, a foreign princess and a model. Finally, in 'What's New, Pussycat' (1965), fashion photographer and unrepentant lover-of-women Michael (Peter O'Toole) lives in Paris, home of the world's most beautiful women. When it becomes clear that more or less every woman who sees him in certain lighting conditions will fall instantly in love with him Michael decides to get professional help. However what he gets from the group analysis sessions conducted by insane psychoanalyst Dr Fassbender (Sellers) do little to prepare him for commitment to his long-suffering fiance Carol (Romy Schneider). Patient and doctor end up at Chateau Chantal, a hotel for those conducting subtle bourgeois 'affaires', pursued by a mob of women and angry cuckolded husbands for a dramatic denouement.
