The book is intended for 3-7 year old children, and is designed to make visits to the doctor less scary, more fun and to encourage children to take their medicine. The story, together with the beautiful illustrations, will also help teach children about the human body and medicine.

Doctor Joe Raine is a Consultant Paediatrician. He has written five medical books and Silly Doctor Clever Doctor is his first children's book. As a paediatrician, Dr Raine sees a lot of children who are scared and worried about seeing the doctor and who are reluctant to take their medicine. He also performs magic for children in hospital and is a member of the Magic Circle.
