Box set featuring 'Corruption Empire', 'Al's Lads', 'Playing God' and 'All the Queen's Men'. In 'Corruption Empire' the death of a businessman leads to a case with a witness (Julia Roberts) accusing Detective Curtis (Benjamin Bratt) of tampering with evidence to save her own skin. In 'Al's Lads', set during the height of the mob culture of America in the 1920s, a young Englishman Jimmy (Marc Warren) and two of his friends find themselves recruited into working for the mobster Al Capone. On discovering that Jimmy has a powerful uppercut, Capone's henchman Georgio puts Jimmy's name forward for a boxing match and under the wing of boxing coach Boom Boom (Richard Roundtree). However, Jimmy is told to throw the fight (which he is reluctant to do), his two mates are implicated in the kidnapping of Capone's son, and Jimmy is having an illicit affair with Georgio's girlfriend. Can the trio get out of all this hot water alive? In 'Playing God' former surgeon Eugene Sands (David Duchovny) finds himself sucked into the criminal underworld when he provides some unusual medical assistance for a shady mob boss (Timothy Hutton). Sands becomes inextricably involved in the mobster's affairs, while at the same time becoming close to his seductive mistress (Angelina Jolie). Finally in 'All the Queen's Men' American Special Agent Steven O'Rourke (Matt LeBlanc) or, as he is mockingly referred to by his superior officers 'Special Agent Almost' has come dangerously close to pulling off several high stakes intelligence operations. While serving a prison sentence O'Rourke receives orders to cross enemy lines and steal another Enigma machine in a Berlin factory. The only catch is that the factory is staffed exclusively by women, meaning that O'Rourke and his team will have to carry out the mission in drag.
