2006 FIFA World Cup on Nintendo's portables lets gamers experience every footballer's dream of bringing home the biggest prize in world football. EA's game challenges you to lead a nation's team through the highs and lows of qualification, as you play teams from your continent in order to amass enough points to take you to the World Cup Finals. Alternatively, you can skip the qualifying and get straight to the tournament in all its Teutonic finery.

There's an interesting Global Challenge mode included in 2006 FIFA World Cup which comes with a range of demands, such as providing a feast of goals to retaining possession of the ball. Skill Challenge mode allows you to test your abilities in all areas of the game, from free kicks to a series of questions about our beautiful game. But 2006 FIFA World Cup is really all about the tournament itself, and it's presented very nicely by EA, despite the limitations of the Ninty handhelds. There's a lot of action in these tiny cartridges, and even more fun can be had by going head-to-head with a friendly opponent with the DS's wireless multi-card option.
